Our Expertise

The staff within Bonsai Class are highly qualified and experienced in working with children with autism, speech and language difficulties and social communication difficulties. They have had training in Good Autism Practice, the TEACCH approach, PECS, Makaton, Kimbles and are all Team Teach Trained.

Staff have high expectations of both themselves and the children. All staff promote a caring, supportive and nurturing environment to enable the children to grow and develop, preparing them for life beyond school.

The Bonsai Class team work closely with staff in the main school to provide support by sharing their knowledge, experience and resources. This ensures consistency and inclusivity.

Staff will have access to training and a full range of services from the Local Authority and Specialist Education Service (SES). Our Specialist Base staff also network with other Leicester Specialist Bases.
