Our Year 3 children have been learning about their story 'Escape from Pompeii' in their English lessons. The children have learnt about Volcanoes in Science to support them in understanding why the disaster happened. Well done Year 3!
Our Year 2 children have been busy learning about Plastic Pollution as part of their story 'Clean Up.' The children wrote about the feelings that the animals in the story would feel. They also wrote about how we can help the plastic problem. Fantastic work Year 2!
Our Nursery Children have been busy learning about their story 'Starry Night.' The children have created some fantastic cityscapes and have developed their cutting and counting skills using scissors. Well done Reception!
Our Reception children have been busy learning about their Number bonds. The children have created their own garden of number bond facts with lots of little insects crawling around the grass. Well done Reception!
Some of our Key Stage Two children took part in a mock trial based on knife crime. They got to act out what a real life youth court would look like and the dangers of carrying a bladed tool. The children got the chance to talk to real magistrates and find out what happens in a court setting. All the children were amazing and one of the Rushey Mead members received an outstanding acting award! Well done everyone!
Our Key Stage One children thoroughly enjoyed performing their Christmas performance to parents and the rest of the school on Monday! The children sang beautifully and entertained the audience with their dancing! Merry Christmas everyone!
Our Nursery and Reception children were absolute stars in their Nativity performance of 'The Bossy King' last week. The children sang beautifully ,and the parents really enjoyed watching them on stage! Well done everyone!
Our Year 2 children thoroughly enjoyed cooking their final meal with their friends last week. The children were able to follow the recipe to create a meal of stuffed peppers, new potatoes and a side salad. Well done Year 2!

As part of their preparation to cook their own meal, the Year 2 children used a range of skills to create a healthy salad. The children washed the salad, cut the salad and mixed the salad before eating it to taste some of the different ingredients.
Our Year 2 children have been working hard in their Cooking lessons this week. The children were learning about how food can change once it is heated or cooked. The children enjoyed taste testing some different cooked and uncooked foods!
