Our Year 5 children enjoyed another Poli:Gen session with Marc on Monday The children outlined a section in the Forest school area with pebbles before sowing seeds using compost and their billy cans. The children thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Thank you Marc!
For World Book Day, our Year 5 children learnt about a range of different stories from around the world The children wrote book reviews and discussed their opinion on the texts they had read. Well done Year 5!
Our Year 2 children have been learning about the seaside in preparation for their visit to Skegness! Kate from @MidlandsCLS showed the children a variety of seaside objects from the past and allowed the children to try on a range of beach outfits!
For World Book Day our Nursery children were learning about the Nigerian tale ‘Baby goes to market.’
The children worked really hard on writing the names of the objects at the market and created artistic representations. Great work Oak class!
As part of World Book Day our Reception children learnt about the book ‘I am Strong’. The children enjoyed learning about the tiger and thought about how they could use their own inner strength! Fantastic writing Reception!
For World Book Day our Year 1 children learnt about the stories ‘Handa’s Noisy Night’ and ‘Handa’s Surprise’. The children have loved learning about the different animals in the story as well as Kenya, which is where both books are set!
For World Book Day our Year 2 children learnt the story of ‘The Magic Paintbrush’. The children have been learning about China in their Geography lessons which is where the story is set. In Art the children thought about what they would paint with their brush. Great work Year 2!
In Cooking this week, our Year 1 and 2 children have been making their own healthy Oat balls by using a variety of ingredients and techniques.
Our Year 5 children have been learning about the Solar System in their Science lessons. The children used a variety of materials and art techniques to create their own representation of the Solar System.
A part of the Spark Arts Festival in Leicester City, our Year 4 pupils recently took part in a 10-week project with the local poet Owen Craven-Griffiths. Owen taught the children about a variety of poetry styles and techniques. The children worked together in small groups over several weeks to write their own poems.
Some of our Year 4 children took part in an 'Ultimate Frisbee' event this afternoon at Soar Valley Collegeπ₯We are pleased to announce that our children came 3rd in the tournament and had a thoroughly enjoyable time πWell done Year 4!
